Good questions

Before you
get started.

What is plug-in solar?

A small solar setup designed to generate electricity for use at home, often using one or two panels in an outdoor space. The connection method depends on the exact kit. A DIY grid-tied system is not necessarily a socket-ready plug-in kit.

Which companies can I compare?

The comparison includes plug-in suppliers such as Thunder Energy and UKSOL, retailers such as Argos, DIY kits from Plug-In Solar Ltd, and installed solar from companies including Octopus Energy, E.ON Next and Heatable. It covers a selected range, not every supplier in the market.

Do I need to give you my phone number or email?

No. You can see and compare your results without sharing contact details. You only contact a supplier when you choose to visit its website.

Are the prices personalised quotes?

No. Where a supplier publishes a starting price, we show it as a guide. Delivery, accessories, installation and your chosen system can change the total. The supplier confirms the final price and availability.

Can I compare options if I rent or live in a flat?

Yes. Tell us about your home and where you would put the panels. We use those answers to rank the options. Before buying, check that you have permission to use the space and that the kit is suitable for your property.
